As our Western Canada process lead, Alex has been involved in the mechanical and process design of wastewater treatment plant upgrades from initial study through to project commissioning. He’s also provided in-plant engineering and supervision for wastewater treatment plant operations.
His current focus? Engineering and construction contract compliance for the new anaerobic digesters at the Residual Treatment Facility Hartland Site in British Columbia. Alex’s advocacy for incorporating engineering control to minimize operator’s exposure to hazards has grown Stantec’s reputation in the communities that we serve.
Alex has also been involved in the research and application of turbulent flow models in water and wastewater applications including the development of computational fluid dynamics models for the design of UV reactors, aerated grit chambers, and sedimentation tanks. Plus, he’s a co-inventor of two patented greywater treatment technologies.
To Alex, water is not just a professional passion, it’s a personal one. He enjoys traveling with his family and watching his wife and daughter playing on the water.
