Elliot enjoys geotechnical engineering because it gives him the opportunity to build infrastructure that enhances communities and protects lives. Using laboratory testing, advanced soil mechanics, seepage and seismic deformation analyses, and other tools, he provides the data needed to keep dams, concrete structures, and large earthwork construction sites intact and stable.
Recently, Elliot’s work on a new labyrinth weir dam on Indian Lake—the first of its kind in Ohio—has proven most rewarding. Being involved in every phase from geotechnical exploration, to design, to construction brings him a sense of satisfaction as he can see everything come together in the final structure.
To relax outside of the office, Elliot enjoys a little friendly competition among family and friends on the golf course.
