In his senior associate role, Matt brings more than twenty years of professional experience in all aspects of planning—from federal entitlements to zoning to capital and comprehensive planning. His curiosity about the historic, economic, geologic, and political forces that contribute to modern city life has inspired him throughout his career.
Matt has held public sector leadership positions in long-range planning, current planning, and zoning as well as in strategic capital planning. He has an empathetic sense for the realities facing building and operating planning agencies. His passion lies in creating policies, regulations, and plans where implementation is realized through smart capital investment or public and private partnerships. This passion has led to multiple award-winning planning innovations in Florida’s Tampa Bay Region.
When he’s not planning urban spaces, Matt enjoys exploring odd corners of the world seeking unusual places—like a Cuban restaurant in Tampa inspired by Chinese settlers of Cuba, or a Red Sox Bar in Antigua Guatemala, or a city where it hasn’t rained for a century.
