Matt is involved in all aspects of hazard mitigation planning efforts in Ohio, from managing mitigation plan updates to assisting communities in obtaining and implementing grant funding for mitigation projects. In addition, his work includes floodplain management, levee analysis and mapping procedures, riverine flood studies, and discovery projects for FEMA in Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Puerto Rico, and New York.
Working with communities large and small, Matt creates plans to reduce their risk of natural disasters. In turn, these communities are stronger and more resilient. He recently helped update the emergency management plans for Pike and Gallia Counties and provided floodplain mapping and risk management to help these areas better understand and plan for their future needs.
When not working to make the communities he supports stronger, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and children—fishing, being outdoors, or working on puzzles.
