A nationally recognized brownfield expert, Dave offers more than three decades of environmental consulting experience. He has led public engagement, assessment, remediation, and redevelopment programs for communities and non-profit organizations in several states throughout the western US.
Dave’s passion for community revitalization and reimaging urban and rural environments as healthy, resilient, and sustainable livable spaces goes beyond his role at work. He’s led the Arizona Healthfields Initiative as a founding member since 2014—an organization that improves community health by redeveloping brownfields to create healthfields (infrastructure including hospitals, clinics, community gardens, and more) in medically underserved areas and food deserts. He’s also been a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Culture of Health Leaders program since 2016.
In his work with the RWJF, Dave is part of a brownfields to healthfields team responsible for the development and implementation of a program to promote this concept nationally including on the Navajo Nation in Arizona and New Mexico.
