With over 20 years of experience, Kula has led large geotechnical projects including pond closures, dewatering, and stability evaluations. He has served as an engineer-of-record and project manager on efforts across the Carolinas and is active in business development for the power, solid waste, and industrial sectors. His technical expertise includes seismic response, landfill design, and sediment capping.
As a geotechnical practice leader and principal geotechnical engineer, he helps to interpret certain technical aspects of the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Rules. He collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on CCR impoundment closures and beneficial reuse projects, providing litigation support and other services.
When he isn’t busy with geotechnical efforts, Kula enjoys traveling to explore new places, reading and occasionally playing or watching a cricket match.
