A principal health scientist and board-certified toxicologist, Marisa brings years of consulting experience to our ChemRisk team. Using her knowledge of product stewardship, she’s assisted a variety of clients in understanding human health and environmental impacts associated with products at various life cycle stages.
Marisa’s project management experience encompasses reviewing toxicological literature for chemicals and designing, managing, and interpreting toxicity studies. She’s also conducted or critiqued dose response assessments, supported corporate product stewardship initiatives, and conducted quantitative or qualitative risk assessments on chemicals or consumer products.
Since 2006, Marisa’s been engaged in a project that supports the global tire industry to better illuminate their products’ impact on human health and the environment from cradle to grave. This project involves understanding the state of knowledge around tire materials, tire and road wear particles, and end-of-life tires in different applications—as well as addressing gaps in knowledge critical to risk assessment through novel research.
When not at work, Marisa enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with family.
