When it comes to dams and levees, Jon is a self-described “dam geek”! With 30 years working in the dams and flood control subsector, he’s one of the go-to guys for dam and levee safety—as well as hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and emergency action planning.
Some of Jon’s most notable work involves developing Federal Emergency Management Agency dam safety guidance related to the High Hazard Potential Dam Rehabilitation Program being used across the nation and serving as a task order manager for United States Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Levee Periodic Inspection Program for multiple USACE districts across the Midwest. He’s also serving as a Subject Matter Expert on general dam safety and emergency action planning for clients in Alabama, Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Texas and Virginia.
Jon is always looking for a new challenge to solve, and he’s quite good at resolving them. He received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Kentucky Section’s Robert M. Gillim Professional Recognition Award in 2015 (the Section’s highest honor they can bestow). In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing with his family on his 6 plus acres of land, LEGO collecting and building, honing his BBQ skills, and volunteering.
