Photo of Tomer

Passionate about marine biology since he was very young, Tomer is now more than a decade into his career as an aquatic biologist. In that time, he’s led marine and freshwater projects across various sectors including mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, aquaculture, and marine terminals.

Tomer focuses on aquatic environmental effects monitoring, environmental assessment programs, and baseline and monitoring programs. He has also been involved with Fisheries Act authorizations, fish habitat compensation including field studies, data and statistical analyses, and report writing, and the use of eDNA technologies to improve biological surveys. In addition to attaining his doctorate in marine biology, he has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in the areas of fisheries science, freshwater and marine ecology, and aquaculture science.

When he isn’t assessing and analyzing aquatic environments, Tomer enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, traveling, sailing, and diving.
