Michael is a chartered civil engineer with substantial experience in leading large multidisciplinary teams in the coordination and delivery of capital investment programs. His depth of knowledge provides him with the skills to drive teams to effectively set, manage, and monitor success across all the projects he works on.
With over 20 years of experience in the water industry, Michael understands delivery pressures, priorities, and concerns—especially around how board confidence and stakeholder engagement are key. Most recently, he has been working with Yorkshire Water’s asset planning team to develop their AMP7 investment plans. Michael assesses their plans for total expenditure and carbon savings by driving an end-to-end holistic catchment approach and then uses an expense hierarchy to challenge the scope. His goal? To develop more low-carbon and catchment-wide solutions.
Outside of work Michael, enjoys being active and bonding with his partner and children—this often involves long walks in the countryside with their dog, cycling, and spending lots of time pottering in the garden.
