For more than three decades, Long has provided electrical engineering services for public- and private-sector projects across the United States. While his experience spans industrial, parks, commercial, and treatment facilities, his primary focus is on water and wastewater treatment facility expansions in California, Nevada, Oregon and Hawaii. His expertise includes power system design and studies, lighting, instrumentation and controls, and construction-related services.
Throughout Long’s career, mentors and industry leaders have guided and influenced his professional development. Today, he’s a supervisor, mentor, electrical discipline lead, business developer, project manager and project delivery lead. He develops electrical proposals and delivers projects for clients’ electrical systems from initial design concepts through construction and commissioning.
Away from his electrical leadership work, Long indulges his passion for golf with the same Stantec group he’s played with for more than 25 years. He also enjoys doing his own landscaping and gardening--growing vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit, with a particular interest in tropical plants such as plumeria, guava, and dragon fruit. He has also successfully designed and built his own custom home.
