Samantha believes that spatial data and geographic information system (GIS) tools help enhance understanding and inform decisions about how to address the complex problem of how society interacts with the environment. As a GIS analyst, she strives to integrate GIS technology with interdisciplinary knowledge to tackle real-world challenges and promote sustainable and equitable practices.
Samantha has experience in ArcGIS Online web mapping and field solutions, riverine floodplain mapping, utility infrastructure mapping and asset management, and lead service line inventory. Some of her recent projects include working on a GIS utility network and lead service line inventory for Jackson Water, statewide floodplain modeling and mapping services for the Texas Water Development Board, and flood risk mapping for the Kentucky Division of Water.
When she isn’t busy analyzing GIS data and working on water related projects, Samantha enjoys biking, reading, traveling, crocheting, camping, and hiking.
