Beginning her educational journey with a focus on environmental engineering, Wendy’s interest diverted to structural design. Today, she’s established herself as an industry expert.
Along with a passion for structural engineering, Wendy is fascinated with the role people skills play in project success. She recognizes the need for design team members to communicate effectively with clients and with each other. Wendy has led the structural design team for the Mountain Parkway Expansion in Wolfe County, Kentucky, and assisted with structural design for the Cincinnati Streetcar project, and the I-75 improvements in downtown Toledo, Ohio. She also appeared on ACEC’s Engineering Excellence Award podcast to talk about the Bridging Kentucky project, which replaced, repaired, or improved more than 300 structurally deficient bridges in the state.
Wendy enjoys mentoring young engineers and has volunteered with Tau Beta Pi for over 17 years. In this capacity, she visits universities around the United States, facilitating seminars for engineering students to share communication, team building, presentation skills, and meeting management techniques.
