Louise enjoys working closely with other talented professionals to achieve an environmentally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and technically proficient result for her clients and our communities. She helps create outdoor places that enrich the environment and the lives of people who use them.
With a strong horticultural background and a love of people, plants, and culture, Louise is passionate about integrating beauty and form in functional projects. She applies her design ethos across a range of projects including the State Highway 51 (SH51) Awatoto roading upgrade. A culturally significant site for the local iwi and future-proofed for rising sea levels, the landscape portion was 2.6 kilometres (1.6 miles) long, included 1.7 hectares (4.2 acres), and required 16,100 plants. She found the project rewarding for its positive collaboration between Waka Kotahi, mana whenua, artists, contractors, and her team.
When she isn’t busy with her latest landscape architecture pursuit, you’ll find Louise having adventures with her daughter, tending to a large house plant collection, hiking, ocean swimming, or reading.
