An environmental scientist specializing in contaminated lands, Kathryn wants to improve the environment for future generations. With over two decades’ experience in contaminated land investigations and solid waste management for infrastructure, land development, marine, and restoration, she’s well placed to do so.
Understanding New Zealand’s land management history gives Kathryn better insight into potential contamination. Her SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Practitioner) experience is in reporting, site investigations, environmental monitoring, and conceptual site modeling to assess potential risks to human health and the environment. A work highlight was assessing the environmental effects, safe handling, and disposal protocols for special and contaminated soil waste acceptance applications for a landfill. She’s also been the technical expert for large roading corridor consenting projects that span multiple land use activities.
Outside work, Kathryn serves on the board of an organization that cares for high special needs individuals.
