Inspired to help restore and improve UK watercourses, Fran found her way to a career in geomorphology where she can assist in creating or improving areas of biodiversity around rivers. She’s experienced in a variety of disciplines including river restoration, water framework directives, natural flood management work, and geographic information system (GIS) mapping. She also has experience with flood risk assessments, flood consequence assessments, and modeling reports.
As a senior geomorphologist, Fran supports our Community Development group by designing and working on fluvial restoration projects and undertaking hydraulic modeling for flooding and low-flow scenarios. She’s worked with both public and private sector clients on catchment-wide and localized projects, conducting site visits and watercourse geomorphological surveys.
When she’s not working on restoring and improving riverine biodiversity, Fran can be found crafting or helping out on the farm where you’ll find her in the field enjoying the company of cows.
