As a planner, Belinda recognizes that successful planning can positively impact health, poverty, and education by creating spaces and places that work for everyone. Known for her work with residential development, hospitals, solar energy, and industrial projects, she most enjoys being part of multidisciplinary teams that create new homes and infrastructure—with sustainability, heritage, placemaking, housing needs, and the need to balance all competing requirements top of her mind.
A career highlight for Belinda is her ongoing involvement with Bedford and Luton hospitals in Bedfordshire—minor schemes to keep the hospitals running well, plus larger strategic schemes to redesign and rebuild both hospitals. Another highlight? Being part of the team which won (at public inquiry) a scheme in the green belt to increase family housing in an area which had built very few homes over the past decades.
When she’s not making a positive impact on communities, Belinda enjoys rowing for Cambridge club in a women’s eight. When she’s not on the water, she loves spending time with her family, walking the dog, and fixing things.
