Alan joined Stantec more than 25 years ago, fresh out of the University of Saskatchewan and ready to work on water treatment projects in British Columbia. In his nearly three decades since getting his bachelor of science in civil engineering, he’s worked on the management, design, and permitting of municipal, industrial, commercial, and land development projects.
In Alan’s role as a sector lead, he focuses on his local and regional clients, supporting account managers and further developing the Vancouver Island water network. A highlight of Alan’s career was working as the civil design engineer and engineer of record for the Sooke Sewer System. This design/build/operate project provided sanitary sewer services to 1,800 residential, commercial, and institutional properties in the urban area of Sooke on Vancouver Island.
When Alan isn’t making sure his region has the best water services around, he might be out with the family, keeping up with his dog-walking obligations, or golfing in fair weather.
