Edgar is a civil engineer who specializes in mine closures and mining environmental liabilities. With more than 35 years of experience in project management, he’s spent 20 of those years working in the energy sector, leading greenfield, brownfield, and environmental remediation projects. As a project, he provides the design and construction services required by clients for the closure phase of mining operations, alongside a multidisciplinary team, under the current legal framework and parameters established by stakeholders.
One of his most challenging and rewarding projects to date involves our work at Pucamarca mine. Edgar is managing the development of research studies to define the guidelines for what will be a revegetation plan, in a high Andean area where low ambient temperatures prevail with little rain and low availability of fertile soil.
When he isn’t busy with working on his latest mine project, Edgar enjoys spending time with his children and attending the concerts of his favorite artists or the theater. He also loves vacations at the beach, going swimming, and walking through natural areas, mainly in the jungle.
