Josiah is responsible for a variety of structural design work from new builds to heritage restorations. Most of his work focuses on heritage projects including the restoration, preservation, and rehabilitation of heritage stone masonry, timber, and steel buildings.
Being able to see a project all the way from conception to completion brings Josiah a sense of accomplishment. Part of this is learning about the communities he works in and hearing the stories that heritage buildings tell of the people who used to live there and how that formed the people who use the space now. Josiah wants his clients to walk away from projects feeling happy that they had the right team and person for their job. He loves being able to take difficult problems and provide solutions that make all parties excited and happy to be a part of a project.
When not at work, Josiah, his wife, and their dog go camping in the backcountry and around Ontario’s Provincial Park system. They also like to explore local small towns, getting to know the character of the town and the people.
