Julian has lived in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, South Africa, and the United States. He’s worked in those regions and many others. His self-described “global perspective” helps him serve mining clients from across the globe.
With more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, he is involved with numerous mine feasibility and design projects. Focused on electrical engineering, Julian wants to keep projects moving. A good example of that is the Grasberg Block Cave project in Indonesia, which added more than 17 miles (28 km) of rail and 119 chutes for high-volume ore transport. The mine is on a remote island, but focusing on communication kept the diverse team moving ahead and helped eliminate interface issues before they became problems.
Outside of work, Julian spends time gardening, walking his dogs, and pursing karate, which he calls a lifelong passion and pursuit that is both a stress reliever and a challenge.
