An urban planner, policymaker, and creative problem-solver, Kate has years of transportation planning experience working for and with North American cities. She combines a background in persuasive, strategic communication with a deep understanding of transportation policy and practice. She takes pride in helping create safer, more walkable, and bikeable streets for everyone.
Kate was the planner behind New York City’s Citi Bike program—the most heavily used bike-share program in North America—and one of the primary authors of the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan. She focuses on connecting innovative policy with practical real world solutions.
Additionally, Kate has worked with city transportation departments across the United States and Canada to develop guidance on a variety of transportation topics such as safety and speed management, urban bikeway design, shared micromobility, agency structure, and safer vehicle design. Other topics include tactical urbanism, emerging technologies and mobility data, transportation equity, and regulatory policy.
When she isn’t busy helping improve how people get around , Kate enjoys running and building sand sculptures.
