Andy has nearly 30 years of professional planning experience working with municipalities, counties, and private consultants. He’s worked on projects including land development regulation, community engagement, comprehensive planning, non-profit administration, transportation planning, floodplain management, and geographical information system (GIS) mapping.
In his work with FEMA floodplain mapping, Andy has supported communities with their risk management needs. As extreme weather events increase, communities are increasingly challenged to meet their obligations to their residents. But, to maintain basic services and help communities plan for their future, Andy uses FEMA Risk Maps to build awareness and provide information tools related to various natural hazards.
For the Upper Hudson Watershed, Andy held a series of community meetings that included FEMA and local agencies. As a result, the team provided the critical information needed for the community to seek grant funding to mitigate their risks.
If he isn’t helping communities identify and prioritize their needs, you might find Andy spending time outdoors backpacking, camping, or running.
