Professor Chris Digman, an expert and recognised technical leader in urban drainage, specialises in wastewater and stormwater management, sustainable drainage, flood risk management, pollution control and sewer solid movement.
Based in the Leeds office, Chris’ innovative approach to complex and challenging projects has led him to supporting major water company clients, such as Yorkshire Water, as they develop their approach to strategic drainage management planning. With a plethora of experience, Chris has guided numerous UK Water Company clients to identify areas to retrofit surface water management measures, develop designs and write bespoke guidance for design and modelling teams to develop optimum solutions.
Chris has significantly influenced stormwater management practices, in the UK and beyond. He has written industry leading guidance for CIRIA, Defra and Water UK, which covers surface water management and benefit assessments. He co-authored, Urban Drainage 4th Edition and has published over 70 papers and thought leadership pieces.
Chris plays an active role at the University of Sheffield, lecturing and providing strategic advice. He sits on the Industrial Advisory Board, Advisor for the UKCRIC facility and Leadership Board Member for the TWENTY65 Programme.
