Routine and in-depth inspections are key to ensuring a bridge’s structural soundness. Abdel makes sure they are done thoroughly. For each inspection he is part of he provides a review of the inspection and reporting process to ensure compliance with industry and client standards and the Quality Control Plan set forth for the inspection. He also coordinates closely with state, local and other agencies to obtain the required reviews and approvals.
Abdel makes sure that all inspection work is performed properly by arranging for necessary maintenance and protection of traffic and identifying and procuring the specialized equipment to ensure the safety of the public and inspection team.
Abdel has performed this role for many agencies in New York and New Jersey, most recently during the biennial inspection of the Williamsburg for the New York State Department of Transportation and the George Washington Bridge Main Suspension Span for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
