A principal geotechnical engineer with our team in Fort Collins, Melanie has more than 20 years of experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering for mining design, reclamation, and permitting projects. She is a project manager and technical lead for various mining-related projects and instructs short courses on water and material balance monitoring.
Melanie is especially proud of her work as project manager and lead for annual reviews and inspections of the Goldcorp Tailings Stewardship project. Working with Goldcorp, watching the progress they’ve made, and contributing to the reduction of risks for tailings-related areas of concern in the industry have been particularly rewarding.
An avid reader, Melanie lists American classics Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings among her favorite titles. She has been a long-distance runner for more than 30 years and enjoys hiking, backpacking, and camping with her husband and two daughters.
