Known for a keen eye to good design, Leo recognizes that attention to detail is key, and he pushes all of his projects to excel in architectural design and sustainability. Passionate about collaboration, Leo enjoys spotlighting his team’s skillsets to arrive at optimal solutions to any design challenge. Although he loves to use free-hand sketching to quickly communicate ideas, he’s also an advocate for digital design technologies.
Recently, Leo has worked with the NYC School Construction Authority to help improve the city’s public school buildings with projects from exterior restorations and space upgrades to new pre-kindergarten centers. He’s currently the project architect for a new five-story school building in Bay Ridge.
Before Stantec, Leo’s 20-year career included designing high-end residences, pre-school facilities, and some of the first Passive House retrofits to existing NYC landmarked buildings, becoming a certified Passive House designer (CPHD) in the process. He enthusiastically seeks to translate those highly energy efficient principles to all projects he’s involved with.
A native New Yorker and father of two young and very active boys, you’ll often find Leo and his wife heading to the outdoors where they’re avid hikers and snowboarders.
