As technical lead for land contamination and remediation, Catherine brings over 30 years of experience. Demonstrating competency and practical experience, she’s a chartered scientist, specialist in land condition (SiLC), and Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) accredited risk assessor.
Catherine has worked on a wide range of previous land uses including gas works, landfills, oil and petroleum refining/storage/distribution/dispensing, military land, and various works. Her knowledge of contaminant types and behaviours inform the successful development of otherwise negative assets. Recent projects include the development of a materials recovery and re-use strategy on a former shell filling factory, investigation and development appraisal of a household waste landfill, and risk profiling for land acquisition.
Key to developing land contamination practices, Catherine drives forward technical excellence, ensuring sustainable solutions are at the forefront. Outside of work Catherine enjoys escaping to the allotment and attempting to grow more than just weeds.
