Dakota has built a life and career around understanding and interacting with plants, animals, and nature. A nursery plant manager with our Native Plant Nursery, she manages her team while focusing attention on the quality and consistency of the plant products we create. She is constantly looking for efficient pathways for plant plug production through logical and critical thinking.
With close ties to the agriculture industry, she has a foundational knowledge of living things. From her background in education, she greatly values communication and teamwork. As the role of native plants in urban planning, infrastructure, and habitat restoration grows, Dakota’s goal is to provide superior plant products in an effort to help clients reduce their carbon footprint and keep our world healthy.
Outside of work, Dakota and her husband enjoy their hobby farm, homesteading, gardening, and preserving food. They operate a small chicken hatchery and goat breeding program—and Dakota also volunteers with 4-H groups. Time off the farm is typically spent as quality time with her husband, riding horses, walking their dogs, or attending football and basketball games as the coach’s wife.
