Matt has spent his entire 18-year career with Stantec, embodying the firm’s values of fostering long-term client relationships, developing creative solutions, and designing for the various needs communities may have. As the technical lead for highway engineering, he applies these values in a wide range of projects.
In his position, Matt works on the technical management of almost all projects that run through the Albany office. There, he leads engineers doing project work and coordinates with the project managers who may be more focused on the budgets. Matt thrives on complex jobs, like the Southeast Stoney Trail (SEST), a key section of Calgary Ring Road, a six-lane freeway in Alberta. He led our design/build effort for this project, including two system interchanges, four service interchanges, and 13 bridges. Extensive collaboration and coordination were needed to assure that the segments Matt was designing would align properly to those already built.
He loves the outdoors, as well, and when not working, he’s often hiking.
