Tiffany has always been fascinated with water movement and made it her career, becoming a water resources engineer for Stantec. Her day-to-day involves analyzing where water flows, what it inundates, and how to reduce damages in its path.
Tiffany has helped developed floodplain mapping across the United States so communities can understand their flood risk, make wise development decisions, and identify ways to mitigate risk. In all, she’s helped create more than 10,000 miles of hydraulic models for FEMA’s map modernization and risk map programs. Tiffany helped rapidly assess flood risk for communities downstream of dams in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria and led a team of engineers that developed floodplains for over 700 miles of streams within a 2-month timeframe. This data helped residents rebuild in safer areas. Tiffany is also involved with designing dams, dam protections, and dam renovations, and works closely with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Outside of work, Tiffany spends time raising a garden, hiking, or helping her kids with projects. She hopes to one day visit all the National Parks in the U.S.
