Not many people think of ecology and transportation in the same breath and, early in her career, marine biologist Nicole was as surprised as anyone to find her passion for marine life intersecting with roadways. Today, as an environmental lead in our Coral Gables office, she works hard to help everyone understand just how integrated the design of our land-based roadways are with marine ecosystems.
In her position, Nicole leads teams in the earliest stages of a project, developing plans that will get vehicles from here to there efficiently while fulfilling environmental policies and minimizing impacts on adjacent sensitive habitats. She is particularly proud of her team’s environmental services work for the and hurricane repairs at Dry Tortugas National Park, and more recently the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) work they did to gear up for the replacement of the Venetian Causeway Bridges crossing Biscayne Bay.
Always ready to enjoy the beauty of South Florida, Nicole slathers on sunscreen and gets outside with her family whenever possible.
