Phil provides expert planning advice to clients on a wide variety of topics including comprehensive plans, zoning, site planning, and design. He’s worked on master plans, redevelopment projects, environmental reviews, and the design of residential, retail, office, mixed use, and industrial projects for over 40 years. His expertise? Analyzing background information, synthesizing research and mapping, and then testifying in zoning and eminent domain cases.
When a new runway was built at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport in Bloomington, Minnesota sending air traffic directly over a client’s 60-acre property, Phil and his team assisted the landowner’s attorney in preparing conceptual designs and cost estimates to show the impact of the noise. In other cases, Phil has provided expert testimony in eminent domain and zoning cases.
Whether as a solo act in coffeehouses or jamming with a dozen or so friends in the neighborhood, Phil unwinds by playing guitar and singing—folk, bluegrass, and old-time music. He also loves to cook and is working on a book called “The Brown Bag Gourmet.”
