In the last decade, the one lesson that stood out to Ken as part of our Program and Construction Management group was the need to listen—to what a client wants, and to what the team needs.
For Ken, projects with aggressive timelines have been where he earned his stripes. The Walmart Corget program, where multiple Stantec sectors came together to meet timelines that were unheard of in the North American retail sector; the Humber River Hospital pursuit that required a Stantec team gel quickly and work cleverly to meet the schedule; and the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, the largest commercial project in the country—all delivered on time.
Since Ken joined the Stantec team in 2002, his job as a program and project manager has gone from working hands-on alongside the client, to providing advice and guidance to clients—both external and internal—at key intervals of a project.
