A water resources engineer with our Water group, David completed a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Alberta in 2012 and started working at Stantec shortly after graduation. He’s worked on a variety of water-related projects including pipelines, pump stations, and storage tanks, but has largely been focused on sewer system assessment and design.
Having completed several planning studies and assessments, David has developed a strong background in hydraulic modelling and GIS data analysis. More recently David has been involved in the use of 2D hydraulic models for flood mitigation planning in Edmonton, Alberta. He’s completed 2D flood modeling on 16 flood-prone areas as well as a 4,000-hectare (about 10,000 acres) industrial sector, developing upgrades to address the worst flooding potential.
Growing up in south Edmonton and seeing the effects of major rainfall events in 2004 and 2012, David feels very privileged to be a part of the flood mitigation process. Outside of work, David enjoys camping, playing guitar, and riding his motorbike.
