As the regional sector leader for our West Coast Climate Change Adaptation initiative, Summer is one of the driving forces helping our clients adapt to and mitigate the effects of global climate change in ways that strengthen our communities. Her primary area of focus sits at the nexus of water management technical challenges and policy solutions.
Summer has a deep understanding of global climate science, multi-hazard risk assessment, climate adaptation planning, regulatory and legislation frameworks, social and racial equity, and funding strategies. She values multidisciplinary collaboration and guides the development of stakeholder-informed planning frameworks, alternatives development and analysis, adaption pathways, and decision making. Dedicated to sustainability, Summer has spent over two-decades focused on water, wastewater, and coastal resilience projects.
When she isn’t helping clients deal with impacts from climate change, Summer enjoys volunteering with her son’s high school drama department, birding along the San Francisco Bay, tracking the effects of king tides, and reading historical fiction.
