The best part of Kevin’s work is meeting and working with exceptional people from all over the globe on interesting mining challenges. In his leadership role, he provides guidance to a capable team of mining professionals—business development, project management, estimating and mining engineering, and senior consultant personnel.
As for meeting challenges in the mining industry, Kevin’s projects include mining services and contracting, high speed mine development and continuous improvement, alternative material handling systems, ore sorting, and shaft sinking. A notable project he’s excited about is the launch of a feasibility-level 3D design of a complete underground mine. Garnering excellent Hazards and Operability Study (HAZOP) reviews and comprehensive feedback from stakeholders, the 3D tools will add value for construction and future mine maintenance and operations. The project is moving into detailed engineering and construction with a digital twin model inclusive of mine workings, infrastructure, equipment, and tools.
When he’s not working with his teams, Kevin loves spending time with his family and being outdoors. Mountain biking, hockey, woodworking, and reading occupy his downtime.
