Lane’s interest in environmental toxicology encompasses chemical fate and transport, epidemiology, and risk assessment. She manages efforts that span from litigation support to environmental health and toxicology projects.
Currently, Lane focuses on researching and assessing the various cosmetic and industrial applications of talc. She has conducted comprehensive literature reviews and multiple exposure and risk assessments to evaluate the potential health risks associated with asbestos exposure from talc-containing products. This includes expanding on and updating studies examining potential airborne asbestos exposure associated with the historical use of cosmetic talcum powder products. She presented on this subject at the Society of Toxicology’s annual meeting in 2024.
Apart from her work in toxicology and human health risk assessment, Lane enjoys running, spending time with her cat, and cheering on the Texas Longhorns!
