Ashikur’s experience spans three decades and is uniquely and evenly distributed in the academic, regulatory, and consulting fields. Teaching more than 2,500 engineering students in the first decade of his career, he spent the next decade in multiple departments of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO)—operations and reliability, transmission planning, regulatory, and forecasting.
Skilled in managing the timely delivery of high-quality engineering and technical services, Ashikur enjoys the challenges of consulting which come in different shapes and forms in his current role. He looks at challenges with a wholistic approach to provide the optimal solution and loves building high performance teams capable of providing services under high-pressure conditions. Some notable projects of his include AESO line loss allocation, Greengate feasibility and connection projects, and Suncor power system model development and studies.
