A principal scientist based in our Sacramento office, Brendan is a geomorphologist and certified as both a professional hydrologist and an ecological restoration practitioner. He specializes in stream restoration and the investigation of human impacts on riverine environments.
Brendan manages projects with habitat enhancement objectives and diverse stakeholder interests. He also evaluates the impacts of dams and diversions on hydrologic processes and sediment deliveries to regulated reaches. Using modeling, he assesses streamflows and how altered flows affect suitable habitats for target species. Additionally, he recommends channel maintenance flows and develops new channel, fish passage, and habitat restoration designs.
When he isn’t helping maintain and preserve important river habitats, Brendan enjoys mountain biking and hiking in the Sierra Nevada and landscaping with native plants and fruit trees.
