An environmental scientist with more than a decade of experience, Zach focuses on wetland delineation, habitat mapping, project permitting, and restoration, making sure all questions are answered before projects are executed.
One of the most rewarding projects he’s worked on has been the Kivalina Evacuation and School Site Access Road. In the event of a catastrophic storm surge, this road will provide the residents of Kivalina with a safe evacuation route inland. Through project permitting, including USACE 404 and Section 10 permits, US Coast Guard permit, and Alaska Department of Fish and Game fish habitat permit, Zach is making sure this community is as safe as possible.
In his own community, Zach volunteers with youth science education experiences as a science fair judge, and he helps with creek cleanups and assists university and federal researchers collect field data.
