Sarang likes to take challenges head-on and he moved from Texas to Hawai’i to do just that. A process mechanical engineer, he’s based out of Honolulu and his work makes him feel like part of the community he serves. With over seven years’ experience in water, wastewater, and environmental engineering, he’s worked on process mechanical design for both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, as well as lift stations.
An indispensable team member, Sarang has provided services for projects such as the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment project, and Sand Island Bioconversion project for Synagro in Honolulu. His responsibilities have consisted of condition assessment for different facilities, hydraulic and process calculations, Biowin modeling—a wastewater treatment process simulator—preparing design drawings and specifications, and developing quantity and cost estimates.
When he’s working in the wastewater field, Sarang makes the most of living in Hawaii. He enjoys hiking, going to the beach, and swimming in the ocean. He also likes volunteering at the food bank and for beach cleanups.
