Stantec integrates its health sciences and sustainability advisory services

Teams focus on challenges associated with human and environmental health, sustainability strategy, climate change, biodiversity, and ESG disclosures

01/31/2025 EDMONTON, AB; NEW YORK, NY TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, announces the integration of its health sciences and sustainability advisory services within the firm’s Environmental Services practice.

Together, the two advisory services address risks associated with climate, biodiversity, labor, social conditions, and governance, while also assessing human and environmental health impacts. These services leverage the insights of Stantec’s global team of engineers and scientists for designing nature-based solutions; solving environmental, health, and safety (EHS) challenges; and designing more sustainable commercial and industrial projects.

Health Sciences Advisory Services
Health Sciences Advisory Services is comprised of board-certified toxicologists, certified industrial hygienists, epidemiologists, computational scientists, risk assessors, and regulatory health professionals who provide innovative services to organizations that face public health, occupational health, and environmental challenges.

The firm’s multidisciplinary scientists have conducted hundreds of assessments to understand the potential human and ecological health risks posed by exposures from consumer products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food additives, contaminated sites, industrial chemicals, and pesticides. With an extensive publication record, the Health Sciences Advisory team’s research is frequently referenced in regulatory decision-making and scientific proceedings.

Sustainability Advisory Services
Sustainability Advisory Services help clients manage risk and enhance enterprise value by addressing the material concerns of investors, employees, customers, and the communities in which they operate. The firm supports clients with the strategic planning of a cohesive and implementable sustainability program that proactively addresses risk, identifies opportunities for efficiency, and improves market position.

Stantec’s Sustainability Advisory technical teams provide comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) support, including:

  • Materiality assessments
  • Voluntary and mandatory reporting
  • Decarbonization planning
  • Biodiversity baselining
  • Anti-modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Indigenous engagement
