The proposed 39 storey building boasts a ground-breaking timber design, with a glass and steel façade. The mix of outdoor and indoor spaces will use an energy-efficient approach featuring natural ventilation with large planted terraces giving access to nature.
Within the partnership, the Atlassian Consortium will deliver engineering services for the project, working collaboratively to share disciplines and embed cross-challenge bipartisanship. This cohesive single team and governance structure enables team members to challenge each other to produce the best project outcome.
Providing Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Level 3 ASP Design, Hydraulic Engineering, ESD, Acoustic Engineering, Lighting Design, Security Engineering, ICT/AV Design, Vertical Transport Design and BIM Management, the Atlassian Consortium will bring this extraordinary design to life.
“Working on Atlassian’s 'world first design is a once-in-career opportunity. We are thrilled to be part of the team delivering such a dynamic and transformative building for today’s and tomorrow’s communities,” said Keith Ryan, Principal at Stantec.
Lester Partridge, Director of LCI shares his excitement about this milestone project. “We are thrilled to be part of a design that is going to transform Sydney’s city scape for ever. Our combined team approach will generate superior results for the project, with the best minds in engineering challenging each other to achieve the desired outcome.”
The building will be Atlassian’s Sydney headquarters, house thousands of technology workers and is set for completion in 2025. The project will pursue exceptional sustainability aspirations through innovation climate concepts, construction and building operations.
The unique architectural design was created as a joint venture by Shop Architects and BVN Architects.
About Stantec
Communities are fundamental. Whether around the corner or across the globe, they provide a foundation, a sense of place and of belonging. That's why at Stantec, we always design with community in mind.
We care about the communities we serve—because they're our communities too. This allows us to assess what's needed and connect our expertise, to appreciate nuances and envision what's never been considered, to bring together diverse perspectives so we can collaborate toward a shared success.
We're designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.
