Eager to see the practical impact of her work, Tingting moved from academia to industry after completing her PhD in chemical engineering. Recognised for her expertise in odour mitigation and management in sewer networks and wastewater treatment, she’s motivated by seeing her designs improve the lives of odour-affected communities.
One notable project for Tingting was the Workplace Exposure Standards Change Impact project with South East Water. She led the project from proposal to delivery, acting as both technical and project lead. Her role involved client communication, assisting the client on execution of the monitoring program, and keeping the project on budget and schedule. She also collaborated with our global resources for insights and report reviews and mentored a graduate engineer. The project's success was highlighted with a presentation at the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand conference.
When she’s not helping communities breathe easier, Tingting is busy with her large family. They enjoy travelling, trying different cuisines, and exploring nature. As a certified yoga teacher, Tingting also enjoys teaching yoga and practising with her kids.
