Growing up in the pristine Kimberely region of Western Australia, Jaimee’s passion for biology and understanding ecosystems began at an early age. Before and during her studies in zoology and ecology at university, she worked as a zookeeper and wildlife rehabilitator for seven years. Over time, her focus shifted from direct wildlife care to understanding ecosystems. This led to her current role in our rehabilitation team.
Jaimee’s work involves taxonomy and monitoring ecosystem recovery. As part of the rehabilitation monitoring process, she collects and interprets data to help guide future decisions and support long-term ecosystem recovery. She particularly enjoys analysing data from various perspectives, providing a comprehensive understanding of how the rehabilitation is progressing.
Jaimee enjoys learning from each project and being immersed with nature. Outside of work, she swims in the ocean every day. Hiking, exploring, and travelling are also among her favourite activities.
