When it comes to navigating the environmental impacts of mining, Peter draws on the expertise he’s gained throughout his career to prevent or reduce the impact on the natural world. His work helps safeguard our environment and gives a voice to the community—providing peace of mind.
In his more than 22 years of experience, Peter has led assessments of major iron ore proposals for companies such as BHP, Rio Tinto, and FMG as well as infrastructure and port proposals. Also, Peter has spearheaded assessments of various materials such as gold, nickel, lead, and sulphate of potash proposals.
His career highlight? Leading the strategic assessment of BHP’s future Pilbara iron ore operation—which required a landscape-scale environmental assessment of 12–15 mining sites planned for development.
In his spare time, Peter is a community radio show presenter for RTRFM. He also likes to run and writes books.
