It was a natural progression to follow a career in environmental science and water management, when, as a child, Catriona was often looking for bugs under stones and coming home wet and muddy. After studying biology, followed by a masters in hydrobiology, her career began with the United Kingdom’s environmental regulator. She then moved to the consulting sector and emigrated to Australia.
Catriona has worked on a variety of projects, including an environmental impact assessment for a hydropower project in Papua New Guinea and securing approval for the use of constructed wetlands to polish sewage effluent and achieve ultra-low levels of nutrients in Cedar Grove, Queensland. She also prepared a carbon emissions analysis as part of the Logan Water Partnership. Catriona enjoys the challenge of untangling complex environment and planning regulations to deliver positive environmental outcomes. She believes in working closely with clients to understand their project vision and working within a collaborative team to meet multiple objectives.
Following her lifelong passion for the outdoors, Catriona loves camping, hiking and trail running, or walking her rescue dog in the bush.
