Daniel has a broad range of experience with coastal engineering and management, metocean (meteorological and ocean conditions) data collection and analysis, and marine environmental monitoring and assessment. He provides clients with coastal engineering and management advice to help sustain and enhance natural coastal and marine environments. As a leader of our coastal engineering team, he manages specialist engineers and scientists who deliver designs that consider equitable use of the coastline and are environmentally sustainable.
Daniel has worked on many large coastal hazard/vulnerability studies including assessments of future climate change risk and options for adaptation. For over 10 years, he has undertaken coastal monitoring of Cottesloe Beach, the popular tourist hotspot, delivering information critical to maintaining it in the future as sea level rises.
When he isn’t monitoring the ocean and protecting coastlines, you’ll still find Daniel around, in, and on the water. He’s an avid diver and boater and can’t let a good weather weekend pass by without a trip to Rottnest Island.
