Rob is a civil engineer with more than 27 years of experience in infrastructure development and commercial and property projects. He’s been involved in numerous leisure resort developments, hotels, hospitals, and office buildings incorporating wet services and firewater reticulation.
Previous significant projects include civil works on Land 121, the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, and Public Utility Plant relocations on the Gold Coast Rapid Transit projects. He’s worked on wet services for hotels in Kigali and Gisenyi (Rwanda), the design of civil and wet service elements for the Golden Horse Casino (Pietermaritzburg), and bulk services design and construction of the Riverhorse Valley Business estate.
Prior to joining Stantec, Rob was a technical director on a Land Infrastructure team. His duties included negotiating with local and statutory authorities, monitoring and collaborating with associated professionals, and managing and supervising design and construction activities.
Rob was the Engineers’ Australia representative on a recent Standards Australia committee to upgrade the Australian specifications for subsurface utilities (AS5488-2019).
Rob is also the Stantec Defence Sector leader for Australia and New Zealand.
Outside work, Rob thrives on enjoying time with his wife Susan and daughters Heather and Rebecca as well as his three dogs, 2 horses, goose, and 35 chickens.
